Schinders list title sequence.
Schinders list title sequence.
The title sequence and credits for this film do not have their own pre-film animation, the companies are introduced during the opening scene. This has been done because of the seriousness of this film and the heavy subjects it touches on and a loud, obnoxious intro would ruin the atmosphere they are trying to develop. I like this format and this is how I hope we implement out titles into the film as our film opening covers similar subjects. The font which the titles use is also appropriate for this type of film as it looks old fashioned and the colour is dull enough to fit with the represented time period. Each shot with the titles on lasts for about 5-9 seconds, long enough for the audience to both focus on what is occurring during the shot and read the titles and know what companies helped develop this film. The films title is shown centrally framed and the dominant subject in the shot, this has not been done for the production and distribution companies as it would ruin immersion but the film title is important enough to take the shot.
