We are planning to use no musical score at the start and concentrate entirely on diegetic sound and then have the music start at the mid point to start to build the tension as the character reveals the box and his secret is revealed. The music would make the dramatic effect of the scene much more effective as the music would be melancholy and slowly increase in pitch and tempo. The other idea we might go with is a focus on the non-diegetic musical score, we would use similar music but it would span over the entire opening, slowly increasing in pitch and tempo as the opening went on. It would peak around when the box is opened and probably decrease slightly so it doesn't become to over powering.
